She lives the life of a pampered princess until Soo-Won kills her father on her birthday. Hak flees the country along with the princess to his birthplace to protect her. Later, both of them travel in search of a legend about the first king of Kouka. The story is about Yona’s and Hak’s travel towards the legend and the people they meet during their journey.
Akatsuki no Yona is filled with action and comedy. The friendship between Yona, Hak and Soo-Won is very beautiful. When it breaks, the action part of the story begins. Hak’s determination to protect Yona from any trouble and his care for her is completely unconditional. The story has a lot of funny and cute moments as the story develops. There are a lot of quirky characters.
The art is great in the story. The story gets quite serious at times. There are dialogues as required, so reading doesn’t tire the reader. The characters in the story are well developed and have proper and clear backgrounds.
I like this manga as I like to see how people change with their experiences and how they confront those changes. The eccentric characters also make the story funny and cool. This is a great read for those who love a mixture of action, comedy and love.
Anime Zeno Rating: 8/10
